Matter of life and death - Iron maiden
Iron maiden is one of the bands that I am crazy about. Every listener of rock music knows about iron maiden. They are one of the few popular legendary rock bands. Titled as a Matter of Life and Death, their fourteenth album proves to be a rather solid effort. The music is traditional Maiden material, though the compositions are a bit more intricate and complex than before. The band performs tightly as ever, but I must admit that some signs of Dickinson's age start to show - his vocals don't sound quite as good as they did before. Kevin Shirley handled the production of this album, and did quite a good job on it. Surprisingly he didn't want to give the material to mastering engineer this time; instead he wanted more honest and raw approach. He decided that the final record should sound just like his mixes, which actually are rather loud. Iron Maiden's latest offering A Matter of Life and Death should please most fans of the band. While Iron Maiden has already reached quite a mature age, they still haven't lost their appeal though their songs have started to sound rather similar. So hear this music and enjoy.
